A Brief Biography
David Lewis, the sixth of ten children, was born in Hinsdale, Illinois in 1956 to a Catholic family. From his earliest remembrance he was devotional in nature and knew he had a mission to help others. At the age of twelve he dedicated his life to God and in the service of mankind.
While attending high school, David volunteered part of his after-school time in working with emotionally-challenged children. As part of an independent study class he met with a local Methodist minister to study the New Testament writings of Paul. During these years, David also studied piano theory at the renowned Alan Swain studios on the Evanston campus of Northwestern University. These studies would play a significant role in enhancing his latent talent as a songwriter.
In 1973, the Lewis family moved to Carbondale in southern Illinois to a 134-acre farm. David enjoyed working outside, growing organic vegetables and herbs, working in a local apple orchard, looking after the family’s chickens, cows and goat and tapping sap to make syrup from their maple trees. It was a wonderful outdoor life of hiking, rappelling and communing with nature on those vast acres of primarily wooded land surrounded by cliffs and dales.
A shift of major impact occurred in David’s spiritual path when he was a senior at Carbondale High School in 1974. After attending a three-month Summit University session studying the teachings of the ascended masters as taught by Elizabeth Clare Prophet, David gave his all in service to the members of its worldwide body of believers. He served in many capacities for over twenty-two years in their different headquarters and centers including Colorado Springs, Pasadena and Malibu, and, most recently, in Livingston, Montana.
David's life-long devotion to the blessed Mother Mary and his daily recitation of her rosary were major catalysts in bringing about a most amazing event in his life. On June 6, 2004, David experienced the first of a continuation of mystical visitations. He felt enveloped in more divine love and radiance than he had ever experienced. From that day, the visitations continued in the form of dictated messages which David wrote down or typed and later gave forth orally. Although these times of communion began as personal communiqués regarding his path, he soon discovered more far-reaching plans for his life and a way to serve life in a greater capacity.
David's gift for musical composition continued to develop and to date has culminated in the release of six inspirational CDs: “Padre Pio, Come”, “Journey of Love”, “Love Will Always Find Us”, “Psalms of Love”, “Sacred Melodies” and “One Breath Away” which include songs of love for the Mother principle and the beauty of family, songs that extol the innocence of the child and the blessings of angels. The transcendent quality of David’s music is apparent in every selection and especially evident in a favorite piece, “May Angels Go with You.”
David lives near Emigrant, Montana and enjoys praying, hiking, jogging, swimming, basketball, writing poetry, storytelling, chess, reading and spending time in nature with his family and friends.
